Patient discussions

Families and patients should be advised that tumour recurrence may occur. Regular follow-up (brain imaging, endocrine and ophthalmological reassessment) is critical.

Patients with specific endocrine deficiencies, and their families, need extensive education on these and the life-threatening consequences if treatment regimens are not followed closely. Patients on hydrocortisone replacement need to be instructed on the importance of 'sick-day' dose adjustments.

Patients should wear a medical identification bracelet or necklace documenting their diagnosis.
