Screening
Routine eye examination
Some US guidelines recommend regular dilated eye examinations every 2 to 4 years for people aged 40 to 64 years, and every 1 to 2 years for patients aged 65 years or older.[28]
For asymptomatic adults who are 65 years or older, the US Preventive Services Task Force concluded that the current evidence is insufficient to recommend for or against screening for impaired visual acuity.[35][36]
