Monitoring

Patients with NAR should be seen again within 4 weeks of the initial visit to assess whether the medicine regimen is effective; if not, it should be modified according to the symptoms and tolerance to medicines.

Once a satisfactory regimen has been achieved, patients should be seen every 3-4 months, around the time the seasons change, and if well controlled may decrease follow-up frequency to every 6-12 months.

At each visit, patients should be asked about symptoms, sleep, activity levels, compliance with medicines, complications (sinusitis, number of antibiotic courses, Eustachian tube dysfunction, headache), and how they feel on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) in order to determine whether medicines should be continued, decreased, or changed.
