Uveitis

The following advice is recommended.

• Educate the patient about the importance of treatment compliance.

• Explain corticosteroid adverse effects profiles, including the increased risk of cataract and glaucoma, and the risks of abrupt discontinuation.

• Provide a detailed explanation of the risks associated with systemic immunosuppressant therapy.

• Inform the patient about uveitis complications including vision loss.

• Advise the patient to seek medical advice for worsening pain, vision, floaters, and/or photophobia.

• Signpost the patient to vision rehabilitation services. Vision rehabilitation is important for patients with uveitis with any degree of vision loss.
