The following advice is recommended.
Educate the patient about the importance of treatment compliance.
Explain corticosteroid adverse effects profiles, including the increased risk of cataract and glaucoma, and the risks of abrupt discontinuation.
Provide a detailed explanation of the risks associated with systemic immunosuppressant therapy.
Inform the patient about uveitis complications including vision loss.
Advise the patient to seek medical advice for worsening pain, vision, floaters, and/or photophobia.
Signpost the patient to vision rehabilitation services. Vision rehabilitation is important for patients with uveitis with any degree of vision loss. The aims are to optimize patients' reading, daily living activities, safety, well-being, and community engagement.[101][105]
