Screening
The prevalence of primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including children, has been estimated at 0.6% to 8.0%.[2][3][9][12][13] All patients with IBD should be screened for PSC with annual liver function tests with further investigation (e.g., magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography) if there are abnormal results.[52][53]
