Rare midline defect of the lower abdominal wall in which the intestines lie outside of the abdomen, often surrounded by two halves of the bladder. Genitalia are often bifurcated, the rectum may communicate with the bladder and an imperforate anus may be present.

INVESTIGATIONS

Antenatal ultrasonography: visualisation of defect with the presence of gut or other abdominal viscera outside of the abdominal cavity.

Postnatal physical examination: confirmatory of diagnosis.
