Screening

Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are too rare to justify screening of the general population. However, children with hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT; also called Rendu-Osler-Weber syndrome) are at sufficient risk of developing AVMs to warrant screening with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning at the time of diagnosis.[58]
