Botulinum toxin type A

The use of botulinum toxin type A instead of Achilles lengthening has been studied and has been shown to work. However, it is not widely accepted.[45][46] One randomised controlled trial published in 2018 showed no difference in outcomes between botulinum toxin type A and placebo in clubfeet treated with the Ponseti method of manipulation and casting.[47] Botulinum toxin type A appears to be safe for use in children under 2 years of age with clubfoot.[48]
