Case history
Case history
A 45-year-old man presents with initiation-type insomnia. He complains of uncomfortable urges to move his legs that are worse during the evening, at rest, or during inactivity. Moving the extremities temporarily improves the symptoms, but together the movements and symptoms delay the onset of sleep and lead to excessive daytime sleepiness and fatigue the next day.
Other presentations
Other late-onset cases include those with similar symptoms but of a less insidious onset, such as patients who are iron-deficient, pregnant, or uraemic.
