Hypersensitivity pneumonitis

With avoidance, and 1 to 2 weeks' therapy with prednisolone, pulmonary function tests (PFTs) can usually be optimised. Prednisolone tapering is probably best monitored by pulmonary function testing, realising that the goal is the maintenance of optimal (which may not be normal) PFTs.

Continue to monitor patients for disease progression, especially where avoidance of the inciting antigen is not possible or wanted by the patient.
