Primary prevention

Well-designed, randomised clinical trials have shown that neither breastfeeding nor the timing of gluten introduction into the diet alter the risk of coeliac disease in children with a family history of coeliac disease.[64][65][66]

Secondary prevention

One study found that infants predisposed to coeliac disease who received the rotavirus vaccine had a lower risk of developing the disease following a gastrointestinal infection than those not vaccinated.[209]
