Monitoring
Disease monitoring involves re-evaluation of clinical features, with investigations directed by abnormal findings and based on recommendations for monitoring individual therapies.
Patients should be under long-term follow-up to monitor their overall condition and response to treatment, and to screen for disease progression (advanced cutaneous disease and systemic disease).
Intervals between follow-up visits vary widely, and will depend on disease stage and current treatment: for example, visits every 6 to 12 months for a patient with early disease using only topical therapy, to weekly or monthly visits for patients receiving systemic therapies for advanced disease.
