Corticosteroids
Systemic corticosteroids can be considered in nondiabetic adults with cellulitis to hasten clinical improvement. One study using a narrative review method to evaluate the use of corticosteroids in patients with Ludwig angina, found in 31 patient cases there was a suggested benefit in the use of corticosteroids.[93] The presence of a deeper infection such as necrotizing fasciitis should be ruled out before corticosteroids are used.[13][94] Overall, data on the use of corticosteroids in the management of cellulitis is limited.
