Bursitis

During an acute septic bursitis, patients will require review every 2 to 3 days to ensure that symptoms are settling. Orthopaedic follow-up is recommended to ensure that symptoms have resolved and there is no underlying risk factor that needs to be addressed. If bursitis recurs, orthopaedic opinion is advised.

Most patients with non-septic bursitis only require follow-up if symptoms do not resolve or if they reoccur.
