Monitoring
Patients should be monitored for postoperative complications, including infection, and delayed complications such as testicular atrophy and infertility.
Recurrent torsion may develop in patients with a past history of testicular fixation many years later, regardless of whether absorbable or nonabsorbable sutures were used.[58] A heightened level of suspicion for these patients is important to prevent testicular damage.
