volume depletion
The onset, frequency, quantity, and character (i.e., the presence of bile, blood, or mucus) of vomiting and diarrhea should be assessed.[19]
Recent oral intake, urine output, prior weight, and associated symptoms, including fever or changes in mental status, should also be noted.[19]
Signs of volume depletion include dry mucous membranes, tachycardia, hypotension, decreased urine output, and weight loss.
